General Contractor: 28% cost reduction—119 000$ saved per year, new project policy in 2 days instead of 3 weeks

Previously, each construction contract required a separate policy, and we could not start work until it was issued. AIINS migrated projects to a master agreement through a tender—policy in 2 days, costs down 28%.

CONSTRUCTIONClient: General contractor for infrastructure and industrial construction: 14 active sites, 260 heavy equipment units, 2,700 staff
LiabilityVoluntary health (VHI)
Challenge

CAR policy arranged for each contract separately—approval took up to 3 weeks. No policy, no site access, advance payment delayed. 260 units of heavy equipment each had a separate policy with different renewal dates. Insurance requirements in contracts varied and were checked manually.

Solution

Digitalised policies, contracts, and heavy equipment register in a single system. Ran a tender for a master CAR agreement with declared new projects—quotes from 12 insurers. Shifted all heavy equipment to a single contract with a common renewal date. Saved client insurance requirements in each project's card: every policy is issued with the correct limits.

Result

-28% in insurance costs – 119 000$ saved annually ; 2 days for a new project policy ; 1 contract for all heavy equipment ; 0 site access delays due to insurance

“A week of downtime at the start of a project costs more than any insurance. We used to lose weeks waiting for policy approvals. Now a new site joins the master agreement in two days, and insurance no longer holds up our projects.”
